I had to overcome everything I was going through very fast because I didn’t want my children to grow up feeling that they were left with a loser parent.

Adding further, she says,

That you know I just stayed at home and just mulled over my situation and you know just stayed fat and complacent and unhappy because of my circumstances. I didn’t want my children to grow up learning to be you know defeated in life by a situation.

Sara Ali Khan talks about living with a single mother

In another interview, Sara Ali Khan revealed what life looks like with a single mother. She gave this interview during her promotions for her Amazon Prime film, Ae Watan Mere Watan. She says,

I think living with a single mother has a huge role to play in it. At a very early age, I realised nobody is going to do anything for you. It’s not that I don’t get help, I do. But ultimately, you are the mover and initiator of your life. If you are lucky, stars align and God wills, then it will happen. You can’t be waiting around for things to happen, it doesn’t work like that.

Amrita’s Bollywood journey

Amrita Singh was a very popular actress during the 80s and 90s but quickly faded into oblivion at the start of the millennium. She struggled hard to find her way back into films. This struggle compounded her after her divorce from Saif in 2004.

However, she has done a good amount of work in the films she has received in recent years. She made her debut with the film Betaab, directed by Rahul Rawail alongside Sunny Deol. Amrita’s pairing with Raj Babbar, Sunny Deol, and Anil Kapoor was superhit and the films themselves became blockbusters at cinemas.

After her fallout with Saif, Amrita worked in films like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Dus Kahaniyaan, Aurangzeb, 2 States, A Flying Jatt, Hindi Medium, Badla, and Heropanti 2.

Apart from Betaab, she worked in films such as Sunny, Mard, Saaheb, Chameli Ki Shaadi, and Naam in the 80s.

By the 90s, Singh starred in films such as Kroadh, Aaina, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Dil Aashna Hai, and Suryavanshi.

She also portrayed the role of Bhagat Singh’s mother in the film 23rd March 1931: Shaheed in 2002. Bobby Deol played the role of Bhagat Singh in the film.

With Sara now doing well in the industry, her mother can rest assured that her daughter will gain good recognition in the future soon.

Meanwhile, Amrita would also like to look for projects that she can fit herself into so that her work doesn’t stop.

Back in 2005-2006, she also played a role in the famous Star Plus serial, Kavyanjali. The show became a hit with the audience and people used to discuss the serial in great detail back then.
